This is a beautiful contemporary cape which was custom designed by Maine Construction Group. The home overlooks Branch Lake and offers amenities such as: A 1400 SF open concept 1st floor with a master suite on the same floor. This house takes advantage of the steep terrain with a full walkout basement and another bedroom at the basement level. The top floor offers 2 bedrooms with a full bath; the bedroom that faces the water allows you to all the way across the large body of water.
One of my favorite features of this home is the deck which covers nearly 700 SF and wraps all the way around the house.
Maine Construction Group did all of the designing as well as all General Contracting tasks, Earthwork and scheduling/planning for this project. One interesting this about this home lot was that it originally had a power/phone line running thru the middle of where the house needed to be. After lots of careful planning MCG was able to bury the lines away from the house in order to make the land much more useable. The home is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2016.
Maine Construction Group was awarded a contract in the fall of 2015 to renovate and winterize King Dining Hall which is located on Branch Lake in Ellsworth Maine.
The project consists of: interior painting of the kitchen, dry storage and cooks office area. A new 35kw generator installation (including new gas service). The installation of multiple heat pumps, the installation of a new water well including trenching and the installation of pumping equipment. MCG also relocated 2 refrigerator condenser units as well as built a roof and pedestal system to protect the units in their new locations.
Another major portion of the project was to replace all of the windows on the south side of the building with new Anderson replacements. MCG was also tasked with replacing 1000 Square feet of log siding on the exterior of the building as well as rebuilding 1200 square feet of deck which boarders the dining hall.
Work is expected to be wrapped up in early spring 2016.
This home has been an exciting project for MCG, we have enjoyed playing the role as General Contractor proving all of the labor to build this very high end space. The home has some really cool features; at over 4500 SF this house has features such as 9 foot ceiling on the first floor, custom tray ceiling on the second floor. 5 custom built fireplaces, 10 heat pumps, a library, a sewing studio, 2 glass block showers, 4 bath rooms & custom cabinets thru out.
Work is expected to wrapped up in the spring of 2016.
